ST. PIUS X SCHOOL NAMED AS CATHOLIC MONTESSORI SCHOOL
We are pleased and proud to announce that St. Pius X School has been chosen by the Archdiocese of Baltimore to initiate a new educational program. This week, Archbishop Edwin O’Brien announced that beginning in the 2011-2012 School Year, St. Pius X will offer a Montessori Primary Program. We will be the only Catholic Montessori School in the Archdiocese. Initially the program will be for 3 and 4 year olds and we will expand the following year to include K. After that the program will be assessed to determine if we should expand to the Elementary level.
We are also very pleased to be working with Loyola University Maryland. Loyola has one of the premier Montessori graduate programs in the country and houses Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) accredited training. Loyola will also be supporting SPX with guidance in the implementation of the program, an information session for teachers, and meeting with parents.
